Meet Our Pastor & First Lady
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at Liberty them that are bruised. - Luke 4:18 (KJV)

Pastor Dr. Nathaniel Johnson
Pastor Nathaniel Johnson, a resident of Aberdeen, Maryland, was born in 1956. In 1977, he married Roslyn Johnson, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 47 years. Roslyn is a blessing to him, a gift from God, a beautiful helpmeet, and completes him. He has five lovely daughters, with whom God has blessed him, and he is extremely proud. They are Natalie, a graduate of Villanova University and Towson University; Danelle, LCSW-C, a graduate of Widener University and University of MD College Park; Ashley, a graduate of Albright University; Kendra, a graduate of West Chester University; and Ellice, a graduate of Morgan State University. He acknowledges that he would not have been effective without Roslyn and his girls.
The Lord has also recently blessed him with a son-in-law, MacKenzie “Mac” Middaugh, grandson, Kraven Middaugh, and Lucian Middaugh.
Pastor Johnson graduated from Temple University with a BS in accounting and business law. He attended Philadelphia Episcopal Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree, and Faith Theological Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. In this accredited seminary, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree.
He loves the Lord and is committed to a life of character. He believes that one who preaches the Word should live the Word in his personal life and his ministerial life. He is determined to make his wife and family his first ministry!
He is committed to preaching the Bible in an expositional format. He believes that it is the inerrant, infallible Word of God, able to give instructions in all areas of life.
He was called to the gospel ministry in 1984 under the late Timothy E. Ruffin of Beulah Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Licensed and Ordained under Pastor Ruffin and Pastor Johnson of Shining Star Baptist church, these great pastors shaped his ministry and preaching. Pastor Johnson has served God’s people at Aberdeen Bible Church for 35 years. He founded the first men's fellowship in Harford County, where God developed several men who are currently pastoring churches today. Pastor Johnson and the ABC family are administering ministry programs to affect its membership and the ccomcommunity'siritual emotional, and physical well-being.
His Life Verse: 2 Timothy 2:2-3 (KJV) 2 “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou there endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ".” His favorite song is Am I a Soldier of the Cross.
All of what has been accomplished by his hands, church members, and the hard-working community has been enabled by God's strength and power alone. During his second year as pastor, he and the church members built the current structure of Aberdeen Bible Church. Currently, he is involved in a building campaign to build a new outreach and school.

First Lady Rosyln Johnson
Greetings to all. I am Roslyn Johnson, the wife of Pastor Nathaniel Johnson of Aberdeen Bible Church. I came to serve at ABC in 1987, along with three baby girls, Natalie, Danelle, and Ashley. This assignment has been my joy and pleasure. But before all of this took place, my love for Christ and His work had already taken root in my life.
I came to know Christ as a teenager and a Mount Pleasant Baptist Church member in Baltimore, Maryland. It was our family church, the Carters. Singing in the choir, ushering, and attending services were a weekly family activity after getting married to my beloved Nate Johnson. We moved to Philadelphia, Pa., in 1976, where we joined the Beulah Baptist Church. Pastor Timothy Ruffin was our beloved Pastor. My Christian walk genuinely began in earnest under his teachings. Learning the Word of God and practicing what we had learned became a way of life. We met many fellow Christian friends and mentors during our time in Philly. Clearance and Jeol'e Walker were our marriage enrichment leaders, and Doug and Charlene Rodgers were our one-on-one counselors. Nate and I also worked in the summer youth and street ministries.
When the Lord moved Nate and me home to Maryland, we joined the Shining Star Baptist Church, where Pastor T Redd was the Pastor and James Johnson was the acting pastor. There, we continued to grow and work in the Sunday school department, women's ministry, and youth department.
While serving in the church, we also started an outreach ministry to the community called Fellowship Ministry. This ministry allowed women, men, and children to come together and study the word of God. Pastor Nate Johnson and Pastor Michael Waters were our leaders. This ministry grew into what is now called Inner County Outreach. This has been a Christ-centered, 32-year journey.
The Lord wasn't done yet. He later called us to Aberdeen Bible Church. There, I continued to teach and lead the women's ministry and teach in the children’s Sunday and Wednesday bible study.
Today, five girls later—Natalie, Danelle, Ashley, Kendra, and Ellice—one son-in-law, Mac, and grandsons Kraven and Lucian—Pastor and I continue to walk the path that God has set before us.
